FAQ
How long does treatment last?
Treatment length is shaped by each patient's clinical needs and recommended care level. Medical detox typically requires 3 to 7 days. Residential stays span 30 to 90 days, with the option to extend based on clinical assessment. Our IOP runs between 6 and 12 weeks, while standard outpatient continues as long as it remains therapeutically beneficial. Your care team evaluates progress at regular intervals and adjusts the timeline accordingly.
Do you accept insurance?
We work with the majority of major insurance carriers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Humana, Magellan, Tricare, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. Our admissions team will verify your coverage quickly, explain your benefits in plain language, clarify any potential out-of-pocket expenses, and discuss financing options — all before you need to make any decisions.
Is detox medically supervised?
Yes. Our detox unit operates under continuous physician and nursing oversight, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Dr. Samuel Osei, our Medical Director, leads a team of trained addiction medicine professionals who monitor each patient closely, administer medications as needed, and uphold strict safety standards throughout the entire withdrawal period.
Can family members visit during treatment?
We strongly encourage family participation as a vital part of recovery. Residential patients take part in structured family therapy sessions, have access to designated visiting times on weekends, and are provided scheduled phone privileges. Our therapists also offer psychoeducation for family members, helping them understand addiction, improve communication skills, and create a supportive home environment for their loved one's return.
What happens after I complete treatment?
Aftercare preparation begins on your very first day at ELY Rehab. Before discharge, your clinical team develops a comprehensive continuing-care plan that may include step-down to outpatient sessions, referrals to sober living homes in Visalia and Tulare County, ongoing individual therapy, local mutual-support group schedules, and enrollment in our alumni community. We stay connected and accessible long after your time on campus concludes.
Do you treat co-occurring mental health disorders?
Yes. Our dual diagnosis program is specifically designed for individuals dealing with both substance use disorders and mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or bipolar disorder. The psychiatric team performs detailed evaluations, manages medications carefully, and coordinates closely with therapists to deliver fully integrated treatment — ensuring both conditions receive equal clinical attention for the best possible outcomes.
